Germaine Sijstermans: Linden (2020) by daylight, dusk and night
Linden (2020) by daylight, dusk and night
performed on December 27th 2020 at Pand (Heerlen, NL) for Cultura Nova
Linden asks of the musicians not only to play the notes written on the page, but to attune themselves to the natural sounds in the environment of the concert location, during the preparation for the performance. This will unfold a collective remembrance of personal experiences with nature, changing with each location and performance.
Rishin Singh - trombone
Eric Wong - electric guitar
Marcus Kaiser - cello
Germaine Sijstermans - clarinet, composition, installation
Video by Marcus Kaiser & Germaine Sijstermans
Many thanks to Intro in Situ, Cultura Nova, Pand, and Performing Arts Fund NL for their support
This composition was commissioned by the Berlin-based ensemble Möbelgruppe.
